What is self – discipline? For many of us, this word has a disturbing connotation. Discipline associates with army drills, yelling instructors, and other crazy things. Some people like it, but for most of us, it is rather repulsive.
Self-discipline, somebody could assume, is yelling yourself, treating yourself as trash. Such self-discipline does not sound good.
But self – discipline can mean something else. There is a second kind od it, not negative but positive. The word discipline comes from the Latin discipulus “pupil, student, follower”. To be disciplined means just to learn and follow. And the teacher in self-discipline is your positive, high goal. You approach it not by hurting yourself but being attracted but something inspiring.
