Tiny expectations

Sometimes the problem is high expectations. It is natural that you desire to do something that can change your life. You want to write a magnificent book, to code a brilliant game, or to make a breakthrough in the numbers of clients for your company. You want it, it ignites you, but it is impossible. Not in general, not in a year or two, but today. Today the effect of your work will be only exhaustion and disappointment if you have it excessive.

Wait for impressive great effects, have an eye on a prize, but today expect tiny results. One hundred words, not an entire book. One client not, a herd of clients.

I promised myself to write one hundred words per day. Not perfect text, just any text longer than a hundred words.

That’s a very low expectation. But it builds consistency. Full concentration, flow, and energy will come later.
